Website Information
Information on this website is provided for general informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, current or free from errors.
Information displayed on this website does not constitute a binding quote, guarantee or professional legal, financial or accounting advice.
Website Estimates
Any estimate generated by the website cost calculator or provided during an initial discussion is preliminary and intended for general planning purposes.
A final project price may depend on factors including:
- Project scope and complexity.
- Content and functionality requirements.
- Ecommerce or booking features.
- Third-party services and licensing.
- Custom design or development requirements.
- The condition of an existing website.
- Revisions or additional work requested by the client.
A project becomes binding only when the client and Coastal Webmasters accept a written proposal, service agreement or other written confirmation describing the work and applicable fees.
Unless otherwise stated, estimates and advertised prices do not include applicable taxes.
Proposals and Service Agreements
Specific projects may be governed by a proposal, statement of work, maintenance agreement, hosting agreement or other written arrangement.
If a project-specific agreement conflicts with these general Terms of Service, the project-specific agreement will govern to the extent of that conflict.
Changes to an approved scope may require a revised estimate, additional fees or an adjusted completion schedule.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete project instructions.
- Supplying requested content, images, branding materials and account access.
- Reviewing and approving work within a reasonable period.
- Confirming that supplied materials may lawfully be used.
- Maintaining appropriate rights and licences for content they provide.
- Informing Coastal Webmasters promptly of errors or requested changes.
- Protecting passwords and access credentials supplied to them.
- Complying with laws applicable to their business, website, products and services.
Project delays caused by missing content, approvals, access or instructions may affect delivery dates.
Content and Intellectual Property
Clients retain ownership of content, trademarks, photographs and other materials they supply.
Unless otherwise stated in a written agreement, ownership of custom final deliverables created specifically for a client transfers to the client after all related invoices have been paid.
Coastal Webmasters retains ownership of:
- Pre-existing materials, processes and know-how.
- Reusable code, tools, techniques and development components.
- Internal systems and working files.
- Licensed themes, plugins, fonts, stock materials and other third-party resources.
Third-party materials remain subject to their respective licences and terms.
Unless the client requests otherwise in writing, Coastal Webmasters may identify itself as the website developer and may display completed work in its portfolio and marketing materials.
Third-Party Products and Services
Websites may depend on third-party services such as:
- WordPress, themes and plugins.
- Hosting and domain providers.
- Payment processors.
- Ecommerce and booking platforms.
- Analytics and search services.
- Email, security, backup and spam-prevention services.
- Social networks and embedded content providers.
These services are governed by their own terms, licences, pricing and privacy practices. Coastal Webmasters does not control and cannot guarantee the continued availability, compatibility, security or performance of third-party products.
Changes made by third-party providers may require additional maintenance or development work.
Fees and Payment
Fees and payment schedules will be stated in the applicable proposal, invoice, checkout page or service agreement.
Clients agree to pay invoices by the stated due date. Coastal Webmasters may pause work, withhold deliverables or suspend services when payments are overdue, subject to any applicable agreement or legal requirement.
The client is responsible for applicable taxes and approved third-party expenses associated with the project.
Recurring Services and Subscriptions
Maintenance, hosting, support and other recurring services may be billed monthly or according to the billing interval displayed when the service is purchased.
Unless otherwise stated, a recurring service continues until cancelled. By purchasing a recurring service, the client authorizes the applicable payment processor to charge the selected payment method at each billing interval.
The client is responsible for keeping payment and contact information current.
Failed or overdue payments may result in the suspension of maintenance, hosting, backups, monitoring, updates or related support.
Cancellation of Recurring Services
Clients may request cancellation of a recurring service by contacting Coastal Webmasters or by using an available customer billing portal.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
- Charges already processed for the current billing period are not prorated.
- Services continue until the end of the paid period unless immediate cancellation is requested or required.
- Cancelling hosting may require the client to arrange alternative hosting and website migration.
- Domain names, software licences and third-party services may have separate cancellation rules.
Clients should request and retain a current website backup before hosting services end.
Refunds
Payments for completed work, time already spent, purchased licences, domain registrations, hosting periods already provided and other non-recoverable expenses are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or agreed otherwise in writing.
If Coastal Webmasters is unable to deliver a prepaid service, any appropriate refund or credit will be determined based on the undelivered portion of the service and the applicable agreement.
Project-specific refund or cancellation provisions contained in a proposal or agreement take precedence over this general policy.
Website Maintenance and Security
Maintenance and security services reduce risk but cannot guarantee that a website will never experience:
- Malware or unauthorized access.
- Software vulnerabilities.
- Compatibility problems.
- Data loss.
- Hosting or third-party outages.
- Performance degradation.
- Search-engine changes.
Clients remain responsible for business continuity planning and for maintaining copies of important business records outside their website.
Backups
Where backups are included in a service, Coastal Webmasters will use reasonable efforts to maintain them according to the applicable service description. No backup system is infallible, and successful restoration cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance.
Clients should maintain independent copies of critical content, records and data whenever practical.

SEO services are intended to improve a website’s technical condition, content and visibility. Search engines control their own algorithms, indexing and rankings.
Coastal Webmasters does not guarantee:
- A particular ranking position.
- A specific level of traffic, enquiries or sales.
- That every page will be indexed.
- That rankings will remain unchanged.
- Results within a particular period.
SEO results may be affected by competition, search-engine updates, website history, client actions and other factors outside our control.

Timelines may be affected by:
- Delayed client content or approvals.
- Changes in project scope.
- Third-party services or technical issues.
- Illness, emergencies or circumstances outside reasonable control.
- Previously unknown issues in an existing website.
Coastal Webmasters will communicate material schedule changes when reasonably possible.
Client Approval and Website Launch
Clients are responsible for reviewing content, links, forms, prices, contact information and functionality before approving a website for launch.
Coastal Webmasters will correct errors within the agreed project scope. New functionality, additional revisions or changes requested after approval may be billed separately.

Coastal Webmasters may refuse or discontinue work that it reasonably believes is unlawful, abusive, deceptive or harmful.
Availability and Support
Support availability and response expectations depend on the service purchased. Unless emergency support is expressly included, responses and resolution times are not guaranteed.
Scheduled maintenance, hosting interruptions and third-party outages may temporarily affect service availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Coastal Webmasters will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business opportunities, lost data or reputational damage arising from use of this website or the services provided.
To the extent permitted by law, Coastal Webmasters’ total liability relating to a particular paid service will not exceed the amount paid to Coastal Webmasters for that service during the six months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
No Warranties
Services are provided using reasonable care and professional judgment. Except for obligations expressly stated in writing or required by law, no additional warranty is provided regarding uninterrupted operation, third-party compatibility, search rankings, revenue, security or freedom from all errors.

Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
Coastal Webmasters may update these Terms of Service when its services, business practices or legal obligations change. The revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated date.
Changes will not retroactively alter a signed project agreement unless agreed by the parties or required by law.
